Wendy can’t see without her glasses. When a punk from the bus smashes her glasses, she decides to use a pair of sunglasses she found in her front yard. The glasses from her yard help her to see “dead people.” She sees “dead people.” She wears these glasses in school and notices the pretty girl, Tiffanie, in class is ugly in the glasses. Another person from class, Julian, helps her as she is sick with the glasses. She begins to wonder if Julian and Tiffanie are out to get her glasses. Maybe they know her secret about the glasses. Finally, Wendy realizes there is a parallel world as she visits her grandma in the nursing home. Actually she meets her grandma, Tiffanie, and Julian in the parallel world.

To be honest, the book was OK. It would have been better if I could get past the fact that this girl picked up sunglasses in her front yard that just happened to be the correct prescription and could see dead people. If you realize all that is part of the story and it is important to the plot, it is a good read. Oh, did I mention the little blue elf?
